Stayed 1 night for business in Rostov. Decent city centre location about 45 minutes to 1-hour from the airport. Close to the Don River. Good size room which was clean and tidy. Bathroom large and clean. Free WiFi worked well. Breakfast was okay and fair value given the added cost. Would use again.

The hotel service was excellent! Our rooms were clean and towels were provided each day. Also, the breakfast was excellent! We had such a great stay, because of people, who works there!

Overall, I had a great trip to Rostov. Mercure was a nice hotel for my purposes as I was visiting my girlfriend and her family. The staff spoke English well. There is an ATM inside the hotel that allows for larger amounts of rubles to be withdrawn versus just a cap of 10,000 rubles. This is nice as it minimizes the transaction fees etc. Breakfast was pleasant and I had everything I could want every morning. The fitness room is good enough for a cardio workout and some free weights that went up to 36kg. Sauna was also nice and clean. I stayed on the 8th floor. Someone below my room was smoking at some point. The smoke came up through the bathroom vents. The hotel is a non smoking hotel, but people will do what they will do. Not a terrible problem to deal with, but the windows could not be opened to air out the room or get fresh air. Had to open the door of the room to the hallway to get some fresh air. The hotel did appreciate my stay with my girlfriend. On three instances, the staff left either a desert or fresh fruit in the room for us with a thank you note. Coupled with the free water every day, it was nice service overall. The hotel is relatively close to the river as well as the new soccer stadium. Location is close to some really good restaurants. Taxis are also inexpensive so farther areas such as the water park may be easily reached. Good overall experience.
