Occidental Tucancún All Inclusive

You get what you pay for. I arrived at 3:30pm & didn't get into my room until 6:30. One person at front desk. No map of property or explanation of where restaurants were, towels for pools or any other services provided. I walked around until I figured it out & asked other guests. Concierge brought me to the elevator...I've always been brought up to the room & shown basic functions of room. Air conditioner was stuck at 24 celsius (74 F) no matter what it was set at (I set much lower & temps never lowered). Spacious room with comfy beds. Rooms were never refreshed or restocked until I called front desk, which was in the evening. Housekeeping was so non-existant until I complained to the manager. The last day my room was refreshed without having to call front desk--too late. Beautiful beach with no palapas, umbrellas or shade. Pool area umbrellas were broken-one stayed open. No one was around to assist. Food looked beautiful but was bland & flavorless. Anything other than buffet needed reservations which took forever because they were also selling tours at same desk. I've stayed at other Barcelos and expected similar quality. Each Barcelo must operate on different managerial programs and this one was very disappointing & lacking. Totally understaffed housekeeping & front desk really makes for a substandard experience. Spend your money elsewhere.

This is our 3rd time visiting Occidental Tucancun. Each time we go, it somehow keeps getting better. The service, cleanliness, food options, location, staff.. everything is always perfect. We feel like we are treated like family and not just guests. Special thanks to Maria Cano and Jose Martin - so attentive and enusring we are always well taken care of. We are already planning our visit for next year!

This was my first all-inclusive experience and it was fantastic.The staff was awesome especially those at the bars and restaurants..food and snacks was available 24 hrs.My husband and I had to leave to go to the airport early and we were allowed to pack a breakfast bag to go..I would have liked the pools to be heated.The water was too cold for me.The bartenders prepared those drinks with joy .We received a free upgrade nice room with ocean view we just had to wait for half hour during which time we were free to indulge in the buffet style lunch...We did not like the promotions it was too lengthy.But we will definitely go back.Thank you Expedia!

First time travelling. The staff at the resort were very helpful with all questions I had. Room was regularly cleaned and fridge re-stocked. Bed was pretty uncomfortable and the sheets had a musky smell. Bartenders were very prompt and drinks were great. Beach and pool areas were wonderful and very clean. Only issue and it was quite a major one is that the food is very below-par. There is enough selection with the buffets and restaurants but the quality was really rough and made it difficult for the whole trip. I would not return and spend more money on somewhere with higher quality food as it really hampers the overall enjoyment of the trip.

First impression of amazing resort with blue water it’s like paradise, i met an amazing person named Giovanni he was so much generous and helped all the days we stayed at the resort and he even made us play some games in the pool. I would definitely go back to this resort and I recommend to any of y’all thinking to go to cancun stay at this resort.
